Experience Life is accountable to the people it supports, to its members, and to the regulators that oversee charities and NDIS providers. This page sets out how the organisation is constituted and who it is responsible to. If something here is not clear enough, ask us and we will explain it.
How we are constituted
Experience Life is an incorporated association registered in Victoria (A0048362Z) and governed by a committee of management elected by its members. The committee is responsible for the organisation's direction, finances and compliance. It is a volunteer committee - no member is paid for governing.
We have operated since 2006 - 20 years supporting Victorians living with disability.
Who we are responsible to
- NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - as a registered NDIS provider, we are audited against the NDIS Practice Standards and bound by the NDIS Code of Conduct. The Commission handles complaints about providers directly, on 1800 035 544.
- Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission - we have been a registered charity since 2012 and report to the ACNC annually. Our record is public on the ACNC Charity Register.
- Consumer Affairs Victoria - as an incorporated association we lodge annual statements and hold an annual general meeting.
- Australian Taxation Office - we hold Public Benevolent Institution status and Deductible Gift Recipient endorsement, both subject to ongoing eligibility.
Our committee
We’re governed by a committee made up of a President, Secretary, Treasurer and general committee members, who provide oversight and help ensure we remain accountable to the people we support and the community we serve.
