Tuesdays With Warren

Every Tuesday, Warren has his regular support shift with his Support Workers, a familiar day in his week with a routine that is all about staying active, getting out into his local community and, most importantly, making his own choices about how he spends his day.

A typical Tuesday starts with a visit to Warren's local swimming pool. Swimming is a great way for Warren to keep active and get some exercise in while doing something he enjoys as part of his regular weekly routine.

Depending on the day, there's also time to head outdoors for a walk, enjoy some fresh air and spend time out and about in the community.

And, of course, no Tuesday is complete without lunch!

Warren gets to choose where he'd like to go for lunch and ultimately that means he's going to the same spot! It's a simple part of the shift, but an important example of what choice and control can look like in everyday life.

Having a regular Tuesday shift also gives Warren consistency in his week. Knowing when his support is happening and having familiar Support Workers alongside him helps build relationships, trust and a routine that works for him.

While the activities may sound simple; swimming, walking, heading out for lunch and spending time in the community, they are all part of supporting Warren to remain active, connected and involved in the things he enjoys.

At Experience Life, we believe support doesn't need to look the same for everyone. It's about getting to know each participant, understanding what matters to them and building their supports around their individual preferences, routines and goals.

For Warren, Tuesdays are about keeping active, getting out and about, enjoying his local community and choosing how he wants to spend his day.

That's exactly how support should be, built around the person receiving it.
